About the ST9 and ST5 Personal Studios The Silent Brass ST9 personal studio is smaller than a cassette tape and weighs about as much. It fits easily into a shirt pocket and can be attached to the player's belt, if desired. This makes the new Silent Brass systems much more portable and convenient. The ST9 has a number of features that allow the performer to do things such as: play through headphones for completely private practice, add an external sound source to your private practice environemnt such as a cd or mini disc and play along with a favourite song or artist. Check out the Tascam Trainer range of special CD players and the Music Minus One series for more possibilities in this area. The ST5 is full of features. These include an auto tuner, 32 effects including delay overdirve or flanger, a metronome and a selection of drum patterns, a phrase trainer and auxillliary key function that can transpose the sound received from an external sound source (CD/MD player) into the key of your choice for play along. With the Silent Series stringed instruments, you can plug in a pair of headphones to allow you to practice whenever you like with almost no external sound. In addition, the choice of battery or ac mains power provides the freedom to practice where you like. You can even practice along with your favourite recording by pluging your CD or MD player or cassette deck into the aux in (Check out the Tascam Trainer range of special CD players and the Music Minus One series for more possibilities in this area). Musicians can also play their Silent Practice instrument through a PA or external amplifiaction system for normal performance purposes. The double bass, guitar and cello (SV 200) have the added feature of detachable sides for added portability.
